China cotton textile industry is fundamental textile industry, which produces preliminary products for knitting, dying & printing, home textiles, clothing and other industrial textiles. The stable and continuous development of cotton textile industry can promote the competitiveness of the whole textile industry.

China Cotton Textile Association (CCTA) has above 600 member corporations, whose yarn, greige and yarn dyed fabric (denim) industrial gross production value takes above 60% of all cotton textile industry in China. The association includes many excellent production corporations, groups and institutions in cotton textile, yarn dyed fabric and denim industry.

The principal of CCTA is: to establish scientific development outlook, enhance technology, restrict industrial activity, maintain right of corporations and make suggestions for the government.

CCTA sets secretariat as standing department. Other divisions include design&research, marketing, production&technology, industry, finance, liaison, pulp production and application, with sub-divisions including top roller and apron technology specialty committee, denim specialty committee and yarn dyed fabric specialty committee. 1. In 1999, CCTA was praised by China Federation of Industrial Economics for its remarkable contributions in helping extricate state-owned enterprise from predicament, and was awarded the trophy cup and the certificate.
2. In 2001, CCTA was evaluated as “Outstanding Industry Association in 2000” by China Textile Industry Association.
3. In Jan 2001, CCTA was commended again by China Federation of Industrial Economics for its assistance with the government to help state-owned enterprises recover from difficulties, and was presented the certificate.
4. In April 2002, CCTA was awarded the "Advanced Association in 2001" by the National Economy&Trade Commission.
5. On March 12, 2003, CCTA was awarded the "Advanced Association in 2002" by the National Economy&Trade Commission.
6. In November 2003, CCTA was evaluated as the "Advanced Industrial Association of China" by China Federation of Industrial Economics.
7. In December 2004, CCTA was evaluated as “Advanced Civil Society Organization” by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China.
